Join us for the Maracas Song Collection this Spring!
Your children will love the energy of this collection! Songs include the American children’s song, "Ha Ha This a-Way" made famous by legendary blues guitarist Huddie Ledbetter (aka "Lead Belly"), the enchantingly rhythmic "Al citrón," based on a traditional Latin American children's game, and "'Bout My Friends," sure to have everyone dancing to its funky blues. In addition to your weekly classes, your tuition includes recordings and materials for you to use at home, including an illustrated songbook and access to the songs through the Music Together app.
Music Together® is a research-based early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age five and the grownups who love them. Designed to nurture each child’s innate musicality, our classes bring families together in a fun, playful environment where singing, dancing, instrument play, and rhythmic activities support natural musical development through joyful exploration and interaction. With mixed-age classes, parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate alongside their children—helping create confident, lifelong music-makers while strengthening bonds and building community. Weekly classes feature a rich, award-winning repertoire, engaging activities, and opportunities for families to continue the music-making at home, celebrating creativity and connection through music in every season of childhood.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Music Together®?
Music Together® is a research-based early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through early elementary ages and the adults who care for them. Since 1987, Music Together® has introduced millions of families around the world to the joy of making music together in a playful, developmentally appropriate way.
What ages can participate?
Music Together® is designed for children from birth through age 5, with some programs extending through early elementary years. Classes are mixed-age, allowing younger children to absorb music naturally while older children model skills, confidence, and leadership.
What makes Music Together® different from other music classes?
Music Together® classes are non-formal and non-performance-oriented. Children learn music the way they naturally learn—through play, imitation, movement, exploration, and repetition—at their own pace. There are no expectations to “perform,” sit still, or master skills by a certain age.
Do parents or caregivers participate in class?
Yes! Music Together® is a family music class. Parents, grandparents, nannies, or caregivers actively participate alongside their children. No musical background is required—just a willingness to sing, move, play, and have fun together.
Why is parent participation so important?
You are your child’s most important music teacher. Young children learn by watching, listening to, and imitating the adults they love. When caregivers participate enthusiastically, children gain confidence, curiosity, and a deeper connection to music. Our teachers create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where adults can jump in, be playful, and even be a little silly.
What happens in a typical class?
Each class includes singing, movement, rhythm activities, fingerplays, and age-appropriate instrument exploration using shakers, drums, and other percussion instruments. Classes are lively, engaging, and flexible, allowing children to participate in ways that feel right for them.
What if my child doesn’t participate the whole time?
That’s completely normal. Children are free to observe, move around, join in briefly, or participate fully. All of these are valid and valuable ways of learning in Music Together®.
What are the benefits of Music Together®?
Music Together® nurtures musical development while also supporting language, coordination, listening skills, social interaction, creativity, confidence, and emotional growth. Because music learning supports all learning®, children also benefit cognitively and physically—often without even realizing how much they’re learning because they’re having so much fun.
Do families receive materials for home use?
Yes. Families receive Music Together® materials (including music recordings and songbooks) to encourage continued music-making at home and help integrate music naturally into daily family life.
How long are classes and sessions?
Classes typically meet once per week for about 45 minutes. Enrollment is by session, allowing families to enjoy consistent participation and the full developmental benefits of the program over time.
Is Music Together® a private lesson?
No. Music Together® is a group class designed to build community and shared musical experiences. It is an excellent foundation for future private lessons, but no private instruction is required.
Can siblings attend together?
Yes! Because Music Together® classes are mixed-age, siblings often attend together. Please contact us for specific enrollment options and pricing.
