Our Modern Band classes bring musicians together to play popular music, collaborate as a group, and perform live in a fun, supportive environment. Bands focus on teamwork, listening skills, confidence, and real performance experience across modern styles—not just rock. Students perform at concerts and special events throughout the year. Bands run year-round, giving students consistent rehearsal, growth, and performance opportunities at every stage.
Ages 4-7

Our fun, high-energy Modern Band class introduces young musicians to keyboard, guitar, drums, singing, bass, and ukulele in a playful, supportive group setting. No at-home instruments or private lessons are required (though lessons can be helpful!). Students explore the basics of each instrument, rotate through hands-on activities, and make music together using popular, age-appropriate songs across many styles - not just rock. Students build confidence and teamwork and get to perform at special events and concerts. A perfect way to discover what instrument they love most!

Class for ages 8–12 is designed for students who are ready to take their playing to the next level! Students choose one instrument and work together as a band to learn songs, rehearse, and perform popular music in a fun, collaborative environment.
To ensure the best experience, all band students must be actively enrolled in private lessons, as this class focuses on playing as a group and performing, not learning how to play the instrument from scratch. Students build confidence, musicianship, teamwork, stage presence, and have opportunities to perform at concerts and special events. Perfect for young musicians who love making music with others and want to be part of a real band!

Our Teen Band is for students who want the full band experience - rehearsing, collaborating, and performing like real musicians. Students choose one primary instrument and work together to learn and perform modern music across rock, pop, alternative, indie, and more.
To get the most out of the class, all band members must be actively enrolled in private lessons. Band rehearsal time is all about playing together, locking in grooves, arranging parts, building stage presence, and preparing for live performances—not learning basic instrument technique.
This class is fast-paced, high-energy, and performance-driven. Students are challenged musically, encouraged creatively, and pushed to listen, lead, and collaborate as part of a team. Bands perform regularly at concerts, showcases, and community events, giving students real goals and real-world experience. Perfect for teens who want to level up, make friends, and feel what it’s like to be in a real band.

Always wanted to be in a band? This is it. Our Adult Band brings musicians together to rehearse, collaborate, and perform modern music in a fun, supportive, and high-energy setting. Students choose one primary instrument and work as a real band playing rock, pop, alternative, and other contemporary styles.
To ensure the best experience for everyone, all band members must be actively enrolled in private lessons. Band rehearsal time focuses on playing together, tightening grooves, arranging songs, communicating as a band, and preparing for performances—not learning basic instrument skills.
This class is perfect for adults who want to take their playing beyond the practice room, challenge themselves musically, and enjoy making music with others. Bands work toward live performances at concerts and special events, giving you real goals, real progress, and the excitement of being part of a band—no matter your age.e
FAQs
When do bands start and when are the shows?
Band classes run year-round, and students may join at any time, space permitting. Performances are scheduled periodically throughout the year, with a minimum of two shows per year. We always provide as much advance notice as possible for upcoming performance opportunities so students and families can plan ahead.
What if there isn’t band availability on the day/time that works for me?
If there isn’t a band day or time that works for you, please let us know what you’re looking for. If there is enough interest, we will do our best to add additional band days/times. We’re also happy to add you to the waitlist for future Modern Band openings and will reach out as soon as a spot becomes available.
Do I need to bring my instrument to class?
It depends! For drums, keyboard, and voice, you do not need to bring anything/ There will be a drum set, keyboard/piano, and microphones provided in the classroom.
For guitar, bass, and ukulele, please bring your instrument to class. Amps and cables are provided. If your instrument is not electric, please try to bring a pickup, if possible.
This applies to all bands ages 8 through adults.
Students in the ages 4–7 band do not need to bring any instruments at all - everything is provided for them.
